Saudi Arabia switches to Friday-Saturday weekend holiday

Weekly official working days in Saudi Arabia will start on Sunday up to Thursday, a royal decree issued this week by King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud to this effect. Friday and Saturday will be the weekly holidays instead of Thursday and Friday. Motivated by Saudi Arabia financial stature, interests and international and regional obligations, the decree is designed to ensure harmony of Saudi government agencies, national organizations and institutions with their counterparts at the regional and international levels with respect to weekly working days.
